For our Halloween special, the AoY crew decides to give a proper send off to the late Takao Saito by reviewing the first adaptation of Golgo 13 to film back in 1973.

(0:00 – 46:35) Ken Takakura Shoots and Scores! Golgo 13 Review: We figured the best way to honor the late Saito is to review the earliest Golgo 13 manga to film adaptation back in 1973. This would be Jonn first time seeing this film, and Dustin’s second time. Dustin has even written an article online about this film during his days in college, which can be found here. It’s has also been nearly a decade and two podcast series ago since Dustin and Jonn talked about a Golgo 13 film in a podcast episode, so its good to dust off the old M-16 once again. This also contains the psyche of Golgo 13, firearms talk, Crying Freeman, James Bond and much more!

For those headed to Anime Weekend Atlanta 2021, Dustin will be hosting The Wide World of Initial D: A Comprehensive History and That B.A.D Panel (Bad Anime Dubbing) on Saturday, October 30th back-to-back from 3:15 to 5:30pm. We hope to see you there!

(46:35 – 2:19:54) The cesspool that is always Closing Remarks: This includes Richard Epcar early acting roles on Street Hawk, anime on the Sci Fi Channel, the cheezyness of Descendants of Darkness, TV ratings, RIP shoutout to Norm MacDonald, the current status of the COVID vaccine, Chris Chan is the second coming of Jesus, Batman ’66 discussion, The Troubles and European politics, Yaz adapting Cucuruz Doan Island to a film, anime we’ve been watching like High Speed Galvion and much more!

Music Selection:

OP – NO ONE CAN MAKE THAT SHOT!

ED – If only Chris Chan was the Superstar he thinks he is…

This show has:

The official Ken Takakura kill count!

RIP Norm….

Ideally this should be the header image… but probably best that its not…

AoY Podcast #156 – 10th Anniversary Podcastaganza (Snyder Justice League Cut, Godzilla vs. Kong, Closing Remarks)

No, this particular podcast isn’t 10 years old, we got a couple more years till that happens. This is to commemorate us doing podcasting for 10 years at this point in time going back to the old Kool Kids Klub Podcast days. No one has told us to stop, and if they did, we’re just not going to listen. Join Dustin, Jonn, Daft and Teewhy as we review Godzilla vs. Kong, the Zack Snyder Justice League Cut, and extended closing remarks.

(0:00 – 1:54:07) Review: Zack Snyder Justice League Cut – Yep, this another one of those supersized episodes we recorded over a couple of months. In this piece we have our discussion of the Justice League cut by Zack Snyder which turned out to be a far better film than the 2017 release. This gets us to talking about Daft and Dustin on keeping a log of things they hoarde, er collect, how Canadian geese suck, the Darkman movie and other movies like it during the time, other Wizard of Oz renditions, which is worse: DC EU or Star Wars Sequels?, more Star Wars discussion, if Zach Snyder did a Dragonball Z Cut, the future of anime/fandom cons, porn parody film discussion, our days at Toon Radio and much more!

(1:54:07 – 3:40:15) Review: Godzilla vs. Kong – This was our recent recording to talk about as much as we could on this film, but also filled with other side banter. This includes how Dustin Cowboy Bebop Adult Swim recordings are circulating around the internet more, censorship on Toonami, the Dubs Time Forgot archive.org page, CN anime schedules on TV, Dairy Queen and the sketchy Indians that run them in your local town, Evangelion talk, Jonn and Daft talk about the new Tom and Jerry movie, the future of streaming services, Baby Yoda merch, Dustin passing out in his gaming chair, Space Jam 2 talk and much more.

(3:40:15 – 5:15:43) Extended Closing Remarks – A lot has happened to our main host Jonn and Dustin in the past couple of months, which a whole segment is dedicated to that just for the heck of it. This involves Jonn getting banned from Twitter for doing absolutely nothing, Dustin tells his journey through the maze of internet dating and the crazy women he meets along the way, the Ravi Zacharias controversy, COVID conspiracy discussion, Dustin getting a new ride, how doing outdoor escape rooms with dumb people is a terrible activity to do, RIP shoutouts, early Screw Attack content, going to awesome video stores in Asheville NC, Silent Mobius talk, how we are still podcasting 10 years later, Biden tripping up the stairs and much more!

Music Selection:

OP1 – HERE THEY COME, LOOK OUT CHUM, IT’S THE JUSTICE LEAGUE!!

OP2 – Should’ve been the opening for this movie…

OP3 – 10 years after our first podcast episode, were still doing this….

ED – As Godzilla goes into the water, this tune plays in Dustin brain…

AoY Podcast #154 – End of the Year SuperPod!! (WW84, Mandalorian, Video Games Review)

Also known as: “What’s the worst thing to end 2020? The Cyberpunk 2077 release or the election results?”

And also: “The Wookie porn is coming up, oh boy!”

Download Episode Here: (Total Time: 5:47:42)

It’s the last show of the year and of the decade, and it comes out hours before the ball drops into 2021! It’s a 3-in-1 bundle of episodes since the first two were supposed to come out during Christmas (which didn’t happen). Now you can enjoy listening to them at your lame New Years Eve party or getting over a hangover on New Years Day!

(0:00 – 1:59:20) ACT 1 – Our Gaming Episode that didn’t make it out in time for ThanksGaming – The excuse for our ThanksGaming and not having one was reasons of not having the time to do it. But hey, Dustin and Jonn talk about a plethora of games that came out in 2020 like Cyberpunk 2077, Mario 3D All Stars, Star Wars Squadrons, Final Fantasy 7 Remake and a few others. This also includes side banter and closing remarks talk of Peter Fay tweets, surviving Atlanta the night Biden got elected on the news, election results talk, Baked Alaska arrest and the world around streams and the IP2 community, RIP Shoutouts to Alex Trebek, Sean Connery to name a few that have passed away, and much more!

(1:59:20 – 3:42:22) ACT 2 – Our annual Star Wars something review of The Mandalorian Season 2 – Because of the entertainment empire of Disney and their golden calf of Star Wars titles to make, Dustin and Jonn go over the Mandalorian series and hit up more on the Star Wars universe. This also gets into a rant on Anita Sarkeesian, remembering when the Bleach fandom had their online meltdown, RIP Boba Fett actor Jeremy Bolloch and Goku voice actor Kirby Marrow, classic film talk such as Gone With The Wind and Metropolis, comedians, Sealab 2021, the upcoming Star Wars series from Disney, how Mega64 makes far superior Evangelion content, Dustin and hosting his AWA panel online (you can find that here on this Google Drive file because I’d rather not put on Youtube in fear of copyright, so enjoy! – Dustin) and much more!

(3:42:22 – 5:47:42) FINAL ACT – A somewhat review of Wonder Woman 84 with a platter of a bunch of nerd ramblings – Dustin, Jonn and Daft come on the mic to give their thoughts on the latest Wonder Woman film, but in reality like 30 or so minutes was spent talking about that movie while they would rather talk about anything and everything else that sidetracked the conversation. Included in this dish is sports talk, live action shows we were watching, Jonn and Daft trash on Looney Tunes Rabbit Run, how the 80’s have warn out its welcome in media, 90’s nostalgia, cartoon remake talks, comics, how it is watching Marvel films with your parents, the Christmas gifts we got this year, Daft explains Section 230 to Dustin, and much more! There’s also a zinger about some dumb 90’s show called Van Pires that Daft wants to review, which that’s something to look forward too!

Music Selection:

OP – We fondly remember thee 2020…

Interlude 1 – Afroman gets no love during Christmas dawg!

Interlude 2 – Santa Claus didn’t die for your sins…

ED – Don’t we all feel the same about this year…

This episode has:

Yea Evangelion 4.0 just isn’t gonna be that good….

“If Boba Fett wasn’t dead before, he sure as hell is now…” – Jerry from The Eltingville Club

One of the best Disney shorts…

AoY Podcast #151 – BURGER OF DOOM! Podcast!!

Also known as: “I can cure your coronavirus with lead poisoning… to the face!”

And also: “ZOOM GAS, IT DID THE GRAVEYARD SMASH!”

Download Episode HERE! (Total Time: 5:25:34)

Instead of doing three bite sized episodes for the listener, we’re gonna cram everything we recorded into one super deluxe crap-of-o-combo podcast for our listeners which involves reviews of the CoronaVirus, Chuck E. Cheese in the Galaxy 5000, Dirty Harry and Death Wish films.

(0:00 – 2:21:54) Act One: The George Floyd Arc – This was recorded in early June and it involves the thoughts of Dustin, Daft and Jonn giving commentary about the American social riots over the death of George Floyd and the CoronaVirus outbreak at that time. This also includes The (non)prophetic word by Tracy Cooke, Florida Man Pastor fights the power/virus, RIP Zac Bertschy, the Carl Macek ANN episode as well as other memorable ANNCast episodes, convention coverage of AgamaCon and WebCon2020, other online cons that happened at the time, 4Kids anime talk, the best of Peter Fay, Samurai Pizza Cats talk, Dustin doing awesome at AMV competitions and a whole lot more in store!

(2:21:54 – 4:24:15) Act Two: It’s all Funi Games at Chuck E. Cheese – We count this review of Chuck E Cheese In the Galaxy 5000 as an anime review for the sole purpose that it came from Funimation at the end of the 20th century, before the rat got replaced by Goku as the company cash cow. Before any of that happens, Dustin and Daft have a bit of backstory behind the animatronic adventures of Rock A Fire, how needless it is to have Weather Awareness, more covid talk, Dustin getting a SNK MVSX, arcade talk, Dustin tells his (non) heart wrenching story of being a Covid Survivor, the end of an Unknown Hinsin, Kluspo cartoons talk, discussions on Adult Swim shows and politics, Ralph Retort sex tape debacle and Ghost response to that, and much more in store!

(4:24:15 – 5:25:34) Act Three: The Death Wish’s of a Dirty Harry – Jonn and Dustin give their impressions on an overview of the Dirty Harry and Death Wish films, all the while talking about police procedures and politics behind them. This includes Dustin rant on BLM politics with Christianity, DNC talk, forgetting Teri Hatcher name from Lois and Clark, Dustin watching V: The Series and Star Fleet and much more!

Music Selection:

OP – Dave Rodgers can kill the CoronaVirus

ED1 – WIND OF GOD, BURN THIS THING!

BONUS (Not in Episode) – ZOOM GAS, ITS A BLAST!!!!

ED2 – RIP Stuart Baker career…

ED3 – Go Ahead, Make My Day…

This show has:

Dustin schooling newbs in anime (@30:13 in case the video doesn’t go to that time directly)

Sadly WebCon only got half of my panel for my History of Anime on Cartoon Network, but there is still a good chunk there from 2005 onward.

Dustin getting back into the art of making AMV’s, and its paying off…

Back when the Copeland Christian Empire made crap like this…

AoY Podcast #150 – The Con-Vid ’19 Report

Also known as: “Yugi Boy, let’s make babies together…”
And also: “Who do you take the dog too? A vet, or a mechanic?”

Download Episode Here: (Total Time: 3:37:56)

So since everything con related is closed forever in 2020, let’s talk about the cons that Dustin and Cloud went too that happened last year that some have been sitting on the backburner for over a year at this point. This also marks our 150th episode!

(0:00 – 1:05:00) Animazement 2019 Review – This is one of many cons that didn’t and wasn’t going to happen this year, but hey its ok, you can hear about the fun time Dustin had 14 months ago. This includes Dustin being on the AnimEigo panel thanks to Robert Woodhead, meeting industry vets like Evan Jones, the best panel done by Phil Lee, con security talk, stories involving sketchy post offices in the middle of South Carolina, trash talking Universal Studios according to Josh Fairhurst, the yearly entertainment of street preacher vs. convention attendees, us being wrong about Macross license rights, and plenty more!

(1:05:00 – 1:21:15) Closing Remarks Part A – Who cares about old news from a year ago? No really, who would care? Probably no one, but oh well. It’s nothing special regarding outdated info on Chris Chan, the Ghost Show and Brexit in case anyone wants to listen or not.

(1:21:15 – 2:35:15) Anime Weekend Atlanta 2019 Review – This con was what, end of 2019 roughly, so its not too old to listen too. Dustin spins his tales of hosting badass panels, how the AWA app sucked ass, bad parents who let their kids see Descendants of Darkness, people dressed up like Antifa who scare children at panels, pissing off the ATL police MONTHS before people decided to riot in the streets to piss them off, meeting the @Blacotaku1 himself and getting cool mix VHS tapes, RIP John Witherspoon, trying to get your AMV to play at the con, and much more.

(2:35:15 – 2:44:40) Closing Remarks Part B – Old news for people who wouldn’t care regarding the DNC race in 2019, Dustin colabs with Bmar on a Ghost Trolling video, bad Bob Haney Batman comics, and Ghost talk in general.

(2:44:40 – 3:37:56) New York Anime Fest 2019 Review – This is our report from our silent contributor Cloud who went to this years New York Anime Fest. Before we dive into any con report, Dustin will cast grievance against Tom Styer for performing like crap in South Carolina DNC race. Cloud gives a run down of the con, but we go into the major guest there and his panel, Yoshiyuki Tomino. This also gets into seeing Char’s Counterattack on the big screen, audio issues, Pokemon talk, Stubbs BBQ in Austin, Texas and much more!
