In this episode, our listeners will be treated to us talking about a completed Shonen Jump series (the anime version that is) where we review Hunter x Hunter.
(0:00 – 1:00:00) Review: Hunter x Hunter (2011) – This recently concluded on Toonami, which prompts Dustin and Jonn to talk about what they remember, going back 3 or so years its been on TV in the states. This also includes our RIP shoutouts to Rutger Hauer and his filmography, how The FP is the Greatest Movie Ever!, and Yuu Yuu Hakusho discussion.
(1:00:00 – 1:37:55) Closing Remarks Take One – This was broken up into two sections due to time constraints, but this is really a hidden extended closing remarks segment of a show this go around. Topics for this part include the recent El Paso shooting, Christianity, The importance of SexEd, women sports and Dustin getting kicked from that CN Reborn discord server (link to goodies found here that we’ll cover in the next episode).
(1:37:55 – 3:28:02) Closing Remarks Take Two – This continues onto our coverage about the reported deposition from Vic Mignogna, our current thoughts on #KickVic, more Christianity talk (thanks to this nifty PregarU video), Jonn throws down the politics discussion from the Democratic Debates, the latest Evangelion Zine that Dustin almost was part of (you can read his rough draft here), how Vice is full of crap, and much more in this episode.
This show has:
One of Rutger Hauer best roles… ok, one of many (but you know this is the true best movie ever made).
A must see movie of the decade… before it ends…
Also known as: ” ‘You can’t make a kid work for you-‘ YES I CAN, IT’S THE ANIME INDUSTRY!”

This review was a long time coming, but now Jonn and Dustin travel among the starts with the baddest babes in the galaxy with their review of Sol Bianca.
(0:00 – 1:17:30) Review: Sol Bianca OVA’s – It seems fitting to put out one of Dustin favorite anime OVA’s on his birthday, which was briefly mentioned in an early episode of our podcast years ago, and now you’ll get a full review of that. Dustin and Jonn get into fanboy-esqe review territory on talking about the original OVA’s for Sol Bianca, which if you haven’t seen this gem its worth a visit! This includes Dustin backstory on why he’s such a fanboy over Sol Bianca, his personal disgust with the Tekken The Movie anime (which it’s gonna happen as a review one day, don’t worry folks – Dustin), Dustin being on the old One Pixel Jump podcast to talk about Bubblegum Crash, The AoY Detective’s get on the beat on when DID Evangelion come out on VHS, a brief RightStuf Promo and much more!
(0:00 – 2:08:52) Closing Remarks – This gets things started with recent Chris Chan drama news, Alex Jones being fake indoctrined into the Proud Boys, Dustin talks about the Bumblebee movie, Micheal Bay and Transformers talk, what we got from Christmas, Jonn talk about the latest Pokemon Switch game, Ghost (NOT)quits the internet once again, and much more! There is also a zinger at the end, so there’s that.
OP – A way to a woman’s heart is through the darkness of space…
This show has:
Now the world can see Sol Bianca dubbed…
Is this pure entertainment or what?
The only person who can Plinkett is Plinkett…

You can consider this an excuse to cover for this years Valentines Day special, which well just take the year off reading comments this go around. We decide to resurrect the four horsemen of the pod-calypse, with returning guest Daft and our resident ex-Gundam/Evangelion fanboy Vekou, into reviewing Neon Genesis Evangelion 3.33: You Can (Not) Redo.
(0:00 – 52:15) A Long Time Coming Review: Evangelion 3.33 – It has been almost 5 years since the four of us sat down and talked about Evangelion 2.22 in the days when were were a bunch of Kool Kids in our little podcast Klub. Now fate has finally brought us together to talk about this movie IN THE MIGHTY ELTINGVILLE CLUB MANNER! Despite who may listen to this podcast, hardcore Evangelion fan or not, this review came the day after Dustin bought his bluray copy from Best Buy, and his thoughts and emotions on this movie are rather raw. This is all in the perspective in how we all first saw this film, which you may or may not agree with our opinions on that, and that’s fine. We don’t dive into great detail in the film, but we do try and clarify a few things the best we can. Also included in our discussion is how Dustin let his girlfriend see this film for the first time WITHOUT any prior knowledge to Evangelion, the Tony Takezaki Evangelion manga, Evangelion in general, Daft and his obsession with getting an Eva Unit 01 head, 4D Evangelion, and what the hell happened to Gainax?
(52:15 – 1:38:34) THE ELTINGVILLE CLUB STYLE CLOSING REMARKS OF YOUR DOOM!! – We never “officially” announced we were in closing remarks, because with Daft and Vekou being part of the recording, Jonn and Dustin just kinda fibbed it and went along with the off topic ramblings. Somewhere along the line, we stopped talking about Evangelion, and started to talk about; the documentary of Mr. Hands, Wings of Honneamise sequel, how Dustin knows crappy hentai titles, Miyazaki boxset w/ Studio Ghibli talk, the new Lupin show (PRONOUNCED “LEU-PAWN” NOT “LEU-PIN,” GET IT RIGHT!), The Funimation/Echolight Rick Santorum conspiracy, Power Rangers fan film, the Ballet of Stewie17, Chris Chan gets interviewed, RIP to Reese White and Joe Alaskey, how we were all dead wrong on the Carolina Panthers winning the Super Bowl (except Vekou), teens who buy overpriced anime crap and more.
If you want to read Dustin write-up about Evangelion 3.33 the morning after, here is his rambling at his new “blog-he-had-to-make-for-school-again” blog over at Kanazawa MechaLords.
And to those brave enough to care, Dustin has a .rar of those Evangelion reviews we did 5 years ago for anyone to check out here at this link.
This show has:
The Evangelion 4D ride…
The Triple Crown winner is always Evangelion…
A different in depth opinion of Eva 3.33 from Mega 64… it’s just 3 1/2 hours long…

This podcast has been granted a special opportunity for product placement promotion. What I mean by that is the company Skybound was interested in sending us their latest card booster for SuperFight! which is now appearing at Anime Expo. So, this is a whole podcast dedicated to us talking about SuperFight! The Anime Deck. Oh yea, happy ‘murika day too, almost forgot about that…
(0:00 – 39:00) I put my Waifu in DEFENSE MODE!!! SuperFight! Review: This is a basically an episode of Zeonic and Jonn playing a card game over Skype, with the help of the most honorable Judge Dori to decide who is the victor in all 5 rounds of SuperFight! After a few coin tosses and elements of losing clothing at Anime Expo within the game, both contestants came out having a good time, all the while talking about other anime fans out there. This gets us in talking about certain real weeaboos on the internet, why can’t cats pilot Evangelions, and waifu’s affecting Shinigami.
(39:00 – 58:45) Closing Remarks: This is stating some news that broke at Anime Expo about Sentai getting more Gundam series, our podcast adversaries at the Artist of Yaoi Podcast, newest Chris Chan stuff and much more.

So we got some leftovers I have been saving for quite a while now, and it’s time I shared the stench with you guys. But sometimes, old things don’t smell so bad, or not all of it at least. We got two reviews way past their expiration date, Dark Solder D and Pacific Rim (or what I wanna call “PacRim”!!)
My Dark Solder D review was originally recorded back in December 2012 (I believe), and was submitted for the last part of Regan’s Anime 82 Mecha Madness podcast to see if he would take this live action mecha atrocity to heart. Well, he gave a brief “NO MAN, NOT GONNA HAPPEN!” on that episode, so the recording (and this post i’m writing on) just sat in the vault till it was needed. But now, that time has come.
If I told you that Dark Soldier D wasn’t offensive to the senses in some way, I would commit one of the worst crimes against humanity. With shooting giant chickens in the ass with an M60 machine gun, brains floating in jars that have speech devices, mad Russians, hooking up with a girl that steals your crap, limbs a flying and much more, you can bet your in for the 3 episode ride of your life.
We then move on to the greatest anime-to-live-action adaptation that wasn’t off an anime, which makes PacRim the best anime of 2013! Both Daft and I were on this recording back when the movie came out in theaters as we each give our own personal views on the movie (and before we got 1 star rating that I found out later that came from Daft on iTunes for some dumbass hipster reason.) Pacific Rim will release your inner child for an hour and a half, with a sense that you have a plastic robot in your hand as you watch the coolest fights break out on the big screen. With the movie out on DVD/BluRay, you should have already bought the thing by now, or you will for Christmas. Either way, get it!
This also gets us to talk about Comic book movie talk, me discussing the Wolverine movie (SPOILERS), toy talk, anime to live action talk, how PacRim is not Evangelion, “Bay”Formers talk, the marketing reasons behind 3D movies now, and much more.
EyeCatch – Best anime opening of 2013
