This idealy was supposed to come out before Christmas, then on Christmas Day maybe, but none of that happened. Dustin Christmas weekend was a s***show day to say the least. Our real Christmas special will come out on the next episode, which in turn is really our 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY of doing this. 10 years of failed promises, broken dreams, lowered expectations, and somewhere in the middle of that is a review of Japanese cartoons somewhat. This time its a con report from the end of October at Atlanta, so enjoy that!

Dustin comes back to regail his tale of the major anime con in Atlanta for our listeners. With 2021 bringing back larger conventions again, Dustin and Jonn talk about their experiences with Anime Weekend Atlanta and Phoenix Toy Con.
(0:00 – 1:08:28) Convention Reports 2021: Jonn hits the ground running with what he did at Phoenix Toy Con the same time Dustin was at Anime Weekend Atlanta. While Jonn was getting great stuff like Bloodstained on the Nintendo Switch and other great comic goodies, Dustin was getting his moment in the spotlight with a grand AMV win at the VAT Exposition contest along with an award at Youmacon AMV Contest all at the same time. Both get into topics about Marvel films, Covid guidelines between the two conventions, things we bought and #LetsGoBrandon. Dustin goes extensively on how his Initial D and B.A.D. panels went, navigating the horrendous Atlanta 285 construction/World Series traffic, meeting industry peeps like Carl Horn, picking up import games of such anime series at random, sleeping at different places with different peoples cats, reading off crappy Evangelion poetry, playing Initial D Zero in the arcade, seeing Tiffany Grant again, Anitubers who rant against AWA because of questionable panels, and much more!

Included in this dish is sports talk, live action shows we were watching, Jonn and Daft trash on Looney Tunes Rabbit Run, how the 80’s have warn out its welcome in media, 90’s nostalgia, cartoon remake talks, comics, how it is watching Marvel films with your parents, the Christmas gifts we got this year, Daft explains Section 230 to Dustin, and much more! This includes Dustin being on the AnimEigo panel thanks to Robert Woodhead, meeting industry vets like Evan Jones, the best panel done by Phil Lee, con security talk, stories involving sketchy post offices in the middle of South Carolina, trash talking Universal Studios according to Josh Fairhurst, the yearly entertainment of street preacher vs. convention attendees, us being wrong about Macross license rights, and plenty more!

Cloud gives a run down of the con, but we go into the major guest there and his panel, Yoshiyuki Tomino.
