So since everything con related is closed forever in 2020, let’s talk about the cons that Dustin and Cloud went too that happened last year that some have been sitting on the backburner for over a year at this point. This also marks our 150th episode!
(0:00 – 1:05:00) Animazement 2019 Review – This is one of many cons that didn’t and wasn’t going to happen this year, but hey its ok, you can hear about the fun time Dustin had 14 months ago. This includes Dustin being on the AnimEigo panel thanks to Robert Woodhead, meeting industry vets like Evan Jones, the best panel done by Phil Lee, con security talk, stories involving sketchy post offices in the middle of South Carolina, trash talking Universal Studios according to Josh Fairhurst, the yearly entertainment of street preacher vs. convention attendees, us being wrong about Macross license rights, and plenty more!
(1:05:00 – 1:21:15) Closing Remarks Part A – Who cares about old news from a year ago? No really, who would care? Probably no one, but oh well. It’s nothing special regarding outdated info on Chris Chan, the Ghost Show and Brexit in case anyone wants to listen or not.
(1:21:15 – 2:35:15) Anime Weekend Atlanta 2019 Review – This con was what, end of 2019 roughly, so its not too old to listen too. Dustin spins his tales of hosting badass panels, how the AWA app sucked ass, bad parents who let their kids see Descendants of Darkness, people dressed up like Antifa who scare children at panels, pissing off the ATL police MONTHS before people decided to riot in the streets to piss them off, meeting the @Blacotaku1 himself and getting cool mix VHS tapes, RIP John Witherspoon, trying to get your AMV to play at the con, and much more.
(2:35:15 – 2:44:40) Closing Remarks Part B – Old news for people who wouldn’t care regarding the DNC race in 2019, Dustin colabs with Bmar on a Ghost Trolling video, bad Bob Haney Batman comics, and Ghost talk in general.
(2:44:40 – 3:37:56) New York Anime Fest 2019 Review – This is our report from our silent contributor Cloud who went to this years New York Anime Fest. Before we dive into any con report, Dustin will cast grievance against Tom Styer for performing like crap in South Carolina DNC race. Cloud gives a run down of the con, but we go into the major guest there and his panel, Yoshiyuki Tomino. This also gets into seeing Char’s Counterattack on the big screen, audio issues, Pokemon talk, Stubbs BBQ in Austin, Texas and much more!

Here we have our recording from Cinco De Mayo to kick off our discussion about Anime Boston from audience member Cloud and his time at Anime Boston again. This includes talk about the new City Hunter movie, him going to panels, Steven Universe talk, people who get overly offended at conventions to complain about them on forums and much more.

(0:00 – 1:34:15) Animazement 2018 Con Report – Dustin regales his tale of a con that happened when the weather was a whole lot warmer, where the first time in years he is a regular con lackey roaming the hallways and not dealing with patrons in the dealers room. Stories can be told about hanging out with other Otaku he’s know about online and their posse, Dustin old parking job and the economics surrounding that industry, modifying your SNES, getting sweet swag from Limited Run Games on a yearly visit, trying to talk to women at the bar with a Salvador Dali art work on their back, the dreaded bootleg dealer came back, rednecks whining about stuff they don’t have in public restaurants, drunken dads that roam the cons and more. This also includes how we thought the Starbucks training lead to other problems, seeing a Steely Dan/Doobie Bros concert in Atlanta, video game and anime talk, and much more.
(1:34:15 – 02:25:29) Closing Remarks Part 1 – This is just the opinions of ours relating back in May, that people have already forgotten about but ohwellwhocaresanyways. (02:25:29 – 04:03:30) Anime Weekend Atlanta 2018 Con Report – If anything was lacking from Animazement, AWA made that up tenfold. Dustin recants his experience by hanging out with his buddy downtown to ride on electric scooters after eating some Pho’King amazing food, getting the correct panelist badge, meeting with old friends, meeting cool people like Tim Eldred, Micheal Sinterniklaas, Darius Washington and Andy Field, talking about panels done at the convention (which were titled Anime in High Gear, Christianity in Anime and Mobile Suit Gundam in America), buying Neil Nadelman old Gundam laserdiscs, getting the sweet hookup on Voltes V from Dave Merrill, getting to meet the Corn Pone man himself in person, people who have seizures at the con and how the staff handles that proper, Is Daryl Surat a Pokemon Seizure Episode Denier that it was ALL A CONSPIRACY? and more.
(04:03:30 – 04:29:48) Closing Remarks Part 2 – Somehow we get into closing remarks territory with the past pre-hearing of the Kavanaugh case, banned episodes of Pokemon, general anime and politics talk, people who had complaints on panels at AWA from an alt-right perspective and more.
