It’s once again time to bust out another RightStuf product review, intermixing with American politics. This time we have Mobile Report Gundam Wing… AGAIN!

(0:00 – 58:20) Review: Mobile Report Gundam Wing (PART DEUX) – It’s been about five years since we last talked about Gundam Wing, so if you account what was said then and now, you’ll get the most in depth Gundam Wing review in the history of ever. This was Dustin re-watch of a series he hasn’t laid eyes on in 18 years, and boy was it ever the trip through time for him. This review is more of the in depth political spectrum review of Gundam Wing, which the politics were never understood by ANYONE who watched this on Toonami 18 years ago. This also includes the acting roles of Campbell Lane, why Wing was popular on Toonami, shout outs to Daily Anime Podcast and the secret episode that NEVER WAS, Dustin reasons for cutting back on liquor, and a whole lot more.

(58:20 – 02:39:34) The “State-Of-The-Union” Closing Remarks – To anyone who heard or saw the American State of the Union address, both Jonn and Dustin give their accounts and rants on what was said, seen, and about American politics in general. This should come to no one surprise to those who ever listened to a single second of this podcast closing remarks, because politics comes up in the discussion all the time. This also includes Ghost TCR commentary, Dustin breaks out his inner Alex Jones once again, the life of Barron Trump, Goof Troop discussion, The Legacy of South Carolina Senator Strom Thurmond, cryptocurrency rants, the 2018 State of the Podcast address, and much more.

Music Selection:

OP – I’ve just been waiting a Republican Motion…

ED – We just outta be a Goof Troop Anime Podcast…

This show has:

RIP Campbell Lane…

AoY Podcast #36 – Gundam The Origin Vol.2 / DBZ Battle of Gods Review

It’s been exaclty 18 episodes since we covered the first volume of Gundam the Origin manga, and for that… we have zero excuses as to why its been that long (no wait, it’s all Josh’s fault). The bigger question is, is it going to be take another 18 more episodes to get to volume 3? I am not even sure if we can be at liberty to answer that question at this time. But hey, we finally got around to talking about volume 2 now. We also get to dive into the Dragonball Z movie that came out last year, Battle of Gods, and finish things up with our thoughts on the last days of Sword Art Online being on Toonami. This episode was also recorded on the new mic I got, and as you can probably tell, I sound kinda different. I am still working out the kinks on how to make it sound, so well see how that goes down in the next few episodes (or if I just need to go back to the old USB Headset).

0:00 – 34:05: So after all this time of mentioning an episode to review Gundam the Origin Vol. 2 in our past episodes, that day has finally come. We pretty much discuss changes made in the manga from the anime series that we were able to point out and give our take on it. Of course, like usual fare, we don’t stay on topic much, not when I say that Brony’s have their own docutmentary, people who hate old UC Gundam shows at comic book places, general Gundam talk (cuz thats how we do it,) the dubs of Streamline anime, how Gundam was animated back in the day and much more. There was also an issue with a transition from us talking about Bright B(right)-slapping Amuro in the manga to getting in the middle of a discussion of Double Zeta. All you need to know is that is how GarageBand works for us.

34:05 – 1:05:20: After talking about this film a little bit on our AIM chatroom a few days before we recorded, we decided to also give our thoughts on last year’s Dragonball Z: Battle of Gods movie. For a film made almost 20 years after Wrath of the Dragon, it seems to be an all around fun movie for true Dragonball Z fans. This gets us to mostly talk about Dragonball Z in general (or really Zeonic’s recollection of a show he hasn’t seen in almost a decade at this point), how people think it’s a good idea to make a 1080p video of Gundam Wing openings, our favorite lolcow news and more.

1:05:20 – 1:43:20: While in the middle of Jonn’s closing remarks on Love_that_Goku becoming a Satanist, Josh brings up a much more pressing matter at hand than anything we have discussed so far, SWORD ART ONLINE IS FINALLY OVER ON TOONAMI!!!! We relished in our celebration to bring you our thoughts on the last 2 episodes of that god forsaken show. Of course, we called upon a man who we have mentioned his name in passing several times in the past; a man who is our source of SAO knowledge, and a man who can only be called upon as… “C.G.” (ChibiGoku). Along with SAO bashing and smashing, we discuss if Japanese might be true rednecks, VHS/VCR tech talk, what’s going on in Toonami, how we celebrated SAO last episode, how the new Robocop film is pretty good, and much more.

Next time, you can expect us to get into the zone for our March (and probably April) review of a particular 80’s anime gem.

We also want to give a shout out to Otaku Generation for playing our promo on their most recent episode.

Music Selection:

OP – After a long sleep, we awake once again…

AoY Podcast #21 – Connecticon 2013 & Beware the Batman Talkback

Also known as: “CO-CO-CO-CO-CON PAMPLET!”

For this week, our very own VeemonJosh talks about about his experience at this years Connecticon. He goes on to spin his tales of checking out the Dr. Who panels, him cosplaying as Jotaro from Kamen Rider, meeting Jon St. John, and more. Then we move right along with the review of Beware the Batman with our “internet correspondent” DaftPunkFan.

And like the usual fare, there are the typical audio issues (mostly in the beginning… and whenever Daft talked), going off ramblings on animated series in general where we mention the current season of Venture Bros, general comics talk (mostly on the DC/Batman universe), picking on people who host online radio stations, my brief thoughts on the George Zimmerman case, and much much more.

I also wanted to point out, we have a Donate page on the right hand side of the website. If you wish to send something our way to help the podcast out, then you are more then welcome too. If you are curious what we plan on doing with the money you send us, I have that all listed under the donate page. Even if you don’t feel obligated to donate at this time, or your that broke, still continue to listen to us free of charge. That is one thing that will never change, and you can count on that!

AoY Podcast #10 – Mobile Report Gundam Wing Review (Gundam Month Pt 3 – Week Three)

zero_epyon

Also known as: “Vash The Redwood?

Mission… Accepted! The Gundam 90’s era isn’t over for us yet, and we have reached the halfway point where we dive into a world of TOTAL PACIFISM!! I’m talking about that Mobile Report Gundam Wing. Gundam Wing seems to be the Gundam show that introduced today’s American anime fans into Gundam (I myself included.) Some of them will die by this series as being the best thing they have ever seen. Well, we happen to say some choice words about this show, and sorta SPOIL it as well (again, from what we can best remember). We also use those choice words on the sequel Endless Waltz, and briefly mention the side manga’s off this show before ending things.

I should note, Andy and Jeff from the Daily Anime Podcast made all the episode screw-ups possible (which made it not a boring podcast episode).

Next time, we will make a brief Turn Around into another Gundam show.
