Once again, it’s back to back Gundam on this podcast, which might be the last time for a while, where this time Jonn and Dustin cover Gundam the Origin OVA 3: Dawn of Rebellion.
(0:00 – 17:16) Pre-Review Movie Review of Finding Dory – Sometime before the hosts get into Gundam, Finding Dory came out and Dustin talked about a bit of the film with Jonn, which then lead to the real issue of the movie: entitled millennials who think the movie is all about their childhood needs and not for the rest of the kids in the theaters. There is also some other talk about other kids movies that take forever to come out, and the lives of the rich and stupid of the New England States of ‘Merika!
(17:16 – 1:04:58) Review: Gundam the Origin OVA 3 Review – Both hosts sit down and cover the overall OVA in general of what happens, so maybe some spoilers are afoot. In all honesty, both hosts spent most of this time talking about other Gundam stuff, anime on American TV, ideas for Sunrise and Bandai to get off their butts and make a proper 40th Anniversary release of Gundam the Origin for a new audience, the change in political and individualism within Gundam, and much more.
(1:04:58 – 01:24:21) Closing Remarks: With this recording happening sometime at the end of June, both host were scrapping the bottom for closing remarks comments, but managed to scrounge some up. Jonn mentions more Ghost accusations, the conspiracy of what was in Gundam the Origin Mobile Suit Development, ideas for our 100th episode coming up soon, and much more.
SPEAKING OF OUR UPCOMING 100TH EPISODE!!: Ok, so we at the podcast take it as anyone reading this knows how to access this site from the web and gets our episodes from here. If you do, you know the internet better than most people. So here is the deal: Episode 100 is coming up and both hosts want you listeners to send us some suggestions on what to do. Should we read email sent by you? Should we do a review of something? Show off our anime collection on video? Demolition Derby? I dunno, you tell us! So to send us suggestions, email us at: aoypodcast@gmail.com, or you could tweet at us over at @AoYPodcast. It’s that simple to use guys! Depending on how many people submit ideas, Dustin and Jonn will pick the most doable idea and execute it, and there will be recognition for it! So let the podcast know by Episode 99 and we will see what happens!
– Dustin (Zeonic)
Music Selection:
OP – You will see the greatness of Char come to life…
ED – Char is coming to make change across the galaxy…

AoY Podcast #95 – Gundam Evolve Review
Also known as: “Now your associating Gundam Wing with ‘Oops I did it again!’ in your mind?”
Download Episode HERE! (Total Time: 1:26:07 )
Because of RightStuf! efforts in putting out more Gundam, our podcast has gone through an evolutionary change with our review of Gundam Evolve.
(0:00 – 1:05:25) Review: Gundam Evolve – Our podcast has now evolved into the next stage in human nerdvolution. Gundam Evolve is 15 short films involving short side stories and what-was-then cool looking CGI 3D model effects from the early 2000’s. If you happen to be a big Gundam nerd, then this is up your ally to add to your collection. As per usual on the podcast, the review usually starts about 10 minutes after the recordings started, where Jonn and Dustin talk about the DVD cover of Super Gals! This only gives more ammunition to Dustin 1990’s memory of the only show on Nickalodeon that mattered, while both hosts go off the review grid a bit to mention the fall (and rise again) of Tokyopop, the stories behind Shin Matsunaga and Johnny Ridden, Dustin repressed 90’s pop music memories, Gundam sunglasses and much more. For a review of animated shorts after the 1990’s, this episode feels more like a 1990’s nostalgia trip than anything else.
(1:05:25 – 1:26:07) Closing Remarks – This time closing remarks are pretty short, where we mention our thoughts on the impact the Orlando Shooting had, American politics, Toon Radio stupidity, and more.
Music Selection:
OP – Gundam is an Evolution not to be reckoned with…
ED – Oops, I guess I remembered the 90’s again…

AoY Podcast #91 – Captain America: Civil War Review
Also known as: “Captain America versus Iron Man: Dawn of Spiderman”
Download Episode HERE! (Total Time: 2:01:45)
For this week, we get to see the greatest Civil War to ever be played out on the big screen, and no this is not a Ken Burns documentary (although it totally should have been). Both Dustin, Jonn and Daft talk about Captain America: Civil War.
(0:00 – 1:28:30) Movie Review – Captain America: Civil War – So yes, for a while its gonna be us talking about comic book movies since we keep seeing them every year, so you can consider this the Comic Book of Last Week Podcast. This movie real message is how hot your Marisa Tomei aunt can put the moves on Tony Stark, which we really dive into the hidden meaning behind that scene. This gets us into talking about the film overall, old Marvel TV movies, employment and union talk, Dustin rant on Rotten Tomato’s credibility, comic book movie fans rant, a secret audio of whats to come in the next Venture Bros. season, which food is best to eat in the theaters, and much more.
(1:28:30 – 2:01:45) Closing Remarks – This is pretty much the latest tweets (as of last month) from Ghost, our thoughts on the trans bathroom debate, Dustin brings up the non significance of the Popul Voh video, if our listeners should remove someone from our Slack channel, and much more.
Music Selection:
OP – Don’t do it Capt. America, don’t give into Iron Man…
ED – Earth’s mightiest heroes face off against… themselves?
This show has:
“I TOTALLY BONED YOUR AUNT, MARISSA TOMEI!!” – Tony Stark inner George Costanza
Totally legit early trailer for Thanos movie…
AoY Podcast #90 – Takahashi v. Tomino Round 4 (Fang of the Sun Dougram / Garzey’s Wing Review)
Also known as: “Are we going to have to do the Kool Koreans Kartoons Podcast now?”
and also: “YOUR DEMOCRATIC VIEWS KILLED GRANDPA!”

It was high time we got back into the clash between the anime director titans of their day, where the gods of mecha anime Yoshiyuki Tomino and Ryouske Takahashi are still at each others throats to see which mecha director is better. This time, after a long absence, we return with Fang of the Sun Dougram and Garzey’s Wing.
(0:00 – 57:15) Takahashi PUNCH! – Fang of the Sun Dougram Review – Takahashi may not have done well in the last round, but he is quick to jump on his feet with another hard hitting mecha anime, Dougram. Since Jonn watch the show over a period of time, and Dustin taking the easy way out of sticking to the compilation film, this is more of a Jonn review. We go into the political intrigue of world building, faction fighting, and top tier anime buttholes in this 1983 classic. The gang talks about the hype of what robot anime brought in the 1980’s with Dual Magazine, comparing the struggles of Dougram to the American Revolutionary War, the first anime to have someone literally die of lung cancer, comparing and contrasting this with Gundam series, Aura Battle Dunbine DVD talk and much more.
(57:15 – 59:04) RightStuf! Promo – This was a quickie to throw out there to let our listeners know of the cool sales that happen on RightStuf website all the time. This time its a Funimation sale till god knows when (or really when RightStuf says so), so take in those offers while they last.
(59:04 – 1:38:54) Tomino KICK! – Garzey’s Wing Review – If there is one thing that is consistent with Tomino, is that his way of wanting to have complete control of a series and run it into the ground. Dunbine might have its issues, but trying to add onto that series over 13 years later can only lead to a bland and beautiful disaster (I gotta stop using songs as anime description puns – Dustin). This title also has a reputation for being “that” bad anime, and after sitting through all three episodes in one sitting, it was more than enough to convince our reviewers. This also brings us to talking about Star Wars movies, Dustin impressions with Bakuon! and knowledge of napalm from an ex-girlfriend, plus much more. We also mention that during this recording, we celebrated two holidays in one podcast review of Garzey’s Wing, with May the 4th Be With You and Cinco de Mayo!! Where on the internet are you gonna find another podcast that covers two holidays in the same episode? Nowhere, THAT’S WHAT!!
(1:38:54 – 2:34:59) Closing Remarks – I think our hosts spent about an hour on closing remarks, but it comes from three different times trying to do them. Due to internet issues and Garageband acting like a punk, both hosts got to air some issues out on the recording. Issues like how Donald Trump is the GOP king shit of the world, what makes women beautiful, Ghost talk and his racist personas on the airwaves, the whitewashing issue on Ghost in the Shell movie, how the Koreans took over ToonRadio.net, anime this season, politics talk, and so much more. See you next time!
Music Selection:
OP1 – We enter a world of galactic political intrigue…
ED1 – Dougram is the Exodus of mecha anime out there…
OP2 – This song is like its anime, its full of danger and its dull…
ED2 – Lord Holy Warrior, you got spooked by that dumb sky beast…
Finale – Happy belated Cinco de Mayo everyone…

AoY Podcast #85 – Neon Genesis Evangelion 3.33: You Can (Not) Redo Review
Also known as: “Triple Crown Eva Unit One!”
and also: “I’m eating out Shinji’s mom… technically.”
Download Episode HERE! (Total Time: 1:38:34)
You can consider this an excuse to cover for this years Valentines Day special, which well just take the year off reading comments this go around. We decide to resurrect the four horsemen of the pod-calypse, with returning guest Daft and our resident ex-Gundam/Evangelion fanboy Vekou, into reviewing Neon Genesis Evangelion 3.33: You Can (Not) Redo.
(0:00 – 52:15) A Long Time Coming Review: Evangelion 3.33 – It has been almost 5 years since the four of us sat down and talked about Evangelion 2.22 in the days when were were a bunch of Kool Kids in our little podcast Klub. Now fate has finally brought us together to talk about this movie IN THE MIGHTY ELTINGVILLE CLUB MANNER! Despite who may listen to this podcast, hardcore Evangelion fan or not, this review came the day after Dustin bought his bluray copy from Best Buy, and his thoughts and emotions on this movie are rather raw. This is all in the perspective in how we all first saw this film, which you may or may not agree with our opinions on that, and that’s fine. We don’t dive into great detail in the film, but we do try and clarify a few things the best we can. Also included in our discussion is how Dustin let his girlfriend see this film for the first time WITHOUT any prior knowledge to Evangelion, the Tony Takezaki Evangelion manga, Evangelion in general, Daft and his obsession with getting an Eva Unit 01 head, 4D Evangelion, and what the hell happened to Gainax?
(52:15 – 1:38:34) THE ELTINGVILLE CLUB STYLE CLOSING REMARKS OF YOUR DOOM!! – We never “officially” announced we were in closing remarks, because with Daft and Vekou being part of the recording, Jonn and Dustin just kinda fibbed it and went along with the off topic ramblings. Somewhere along the line, we stopped talking about Evangelion, and started to talk about; the documentary of Mr. Hands, Wings of Honneamise sequel, how Dustin knows crappy hentai titles, Miyazaki boxset w/ Studio Ghibli talk, the new Lupin show (PRONOUNCED “LEU-PAWN” NOT “LEU-PIN,” GET IT RIGHT!), The Funimation/Echolight Rick Santorum conspiracy, Power Rangers fan film, the Ballet of Stewie17, Chris Chan gets interviewed, RIP to Reese White and Joe Alaskey, how we were all dead wrong on the Carolina Panthers winning the Super Bowl (except Vekou), teens who buy overpriced anime crap and more.
If you want to read Dustin write-up about Evangelion 3.33 the morning after, here is his rambling at his new “blog-he-had-to-make-for-school-again” blog over at Kanazawa MechaLords.
And to those brave enough to care, Dustin has a .rar of those Evangelion reviews we did 5 years ago for anyone to check out here at this link.
Music Selection:
OP – Let’s talk Evangelion, THE ELTINGVILLE CLUB WAY!
ED – YO ANNO, GET THAT 4.0 MOVIE OUT!
This show has:
The Evangelion 4D ride…
The Triple Crown winner is always Evangelion…
A different in depth opinion of Eva 3.33 from Mega 64… it’s just 3 1/2 hours long…
