After a long time coming (that no one asked for), the podcast covers one of the
worst greatest blunders of Robotech history; Robotech: The Movie: The Untold Story. This time the podcast is greeted by Robotech fan Grant The Thief.
(0:00 – 1:23:40) The Untold Review: Robotech: The Movie (ie, Talk-About-Robotech-Than-This-Crappy-Film-For-Over-An-Hour-And-Twenty-Minutes) – No the headline isn’t lying to you guys, Dustin, Jonn and Grant really did talk about other Robotech stuff than this film. Think about it, if the hosts really “did” talk about Robotech: The Movie, this podcast would have been really short, and who wants that? Before ever going into trying to summarize the wikipedia article of this film, the hosts just talked Robotech from property rights, fandom and silly crossovers throughout Robotech lifetime. This also gets into discussion on Harmony Gold properties (like that Captain Harlock dub), who Carl Macek really is, how people forgot how to draw Robotech officially, how anime being shown on television has changed for the better and much more.
(1:23:40 – 02:21:55) Closing Remarks – Dustin and Jonn bring in the verdict for the Rise and Crash of KidsClickTV, Grant brings in how great Lupin the 3rd is, Dustin being a panelist at Electric City Comic Con, Cartoon Network shows, crazy Robotech podcasters, and how breaking up with your fiancee is hard to do. All this and more in this weeks episode.
This show has:
I hope the rest of this gets on TV for real…

Well, here we are in the middle of the anime convention season, and already some of us here at the podcast have done our time at these big conventions. This time we have Daft and another guest Cloud to cover their experience at Anime Boston…
(0:00 – 1:19:45) Spring Convention Report – Anime Boston 2015: This is the first of our con reports that will be coming out in the coming weeks, as Daft and Cloud talk about the New England convention of Anime Boston. Daft tells about how it was to talk to Richard Epcar, going to panels hosted by Harmony Gold, Daft hosting his own panel, and that Anime Boston is SECRETLY PART OF A CONSPIRACY TO SHOW OFF IT’S ULTIMATE FORM, STANDING IN LINES!!!! Cloud mentions how he got screwed over in doing a panel, plus the two mention other complaints about the convention regarding from security to disabled people online talking about their gripes with the con. But, aside from that, they both seemed to have fun.
(1:19:45 – 1:52:43) The Lolcow Hour/Closing Remarks: It shouldn’t come to anyone’s surprise that the rest of this time is dedicated to still trying to talk about and uncover more information on Chris(tine) Chan ultimate objective in life.

Ok, so it’s been a exactly 25 episodes since we last covered the Gundam the Origin manga. However, we’re at least was honest in that post about if it’ll take longer than 18 episodes to get to the next volume, which we clearly went above and beyond that number. However, Jonn and Zeonic are gonna double dose it for you, by covering TWO volumes of Gundam the Origin in this episode too make up some lost ground. We are also gonna keep up with tradition from last year, and that’s to read out a years worth of comments we have received in 2014 (and some of 2015 as well).
(0:00 – 50:00) Review: Mobile Suit Gundam – The Origin Vol. 3 & 4: After playing our Indiegogo intro at the beginning of the podcast, both Jonn and Zeonic tackle the South American Zeon occupied jungle of Gundam the Origin. Both co-host are able to go through both volumes by hitting the high points of the plot, but it’s all the same if someone saw the original Gundam series to begin with, so die hard fans are not gonna get offended by the spoilers we might say. Of course, this is Yasuhiko way of making sure the White Base crew knew where South America was than trying to trek through Asia to get there like in the original series. Of course before we dive into any of that, Zeonic explains to Jonn how he was still alive by battling a harsh cold, getting on tangents about television censorship in cartoons, and then us talking about Futurama seasons for some reason.
(50:00 – 52:27) Promo’s: Alpha Counter is there to remind us the dangers of today’s post-modern way of accepting Furries and how, that idea is just plain dumb. Anime World Order has been busy with putting out 2 episodes within a months time, which includes interviews with current Hobby Link Japan employee and one of the early founders of American anime fandom Ardith Carlton, as well as talking about SeHa Girls with Heidi Kemps. Dave and Joel still wanna let you know, that Jojo’s is a crazy show to watch.
(52:27 – 2:07:33) Keeping with Tradition – Reading Listener Comments: This is a tradition that we’ll continue to do on the podcast, because it’s our small appreciation to you listeners that we do read your comments, and then later read them out loud on this podcast once a year. Upon reading out our comments in 2014, we get into discussions about Gundam, Macross (and the blunders at Harmony Gold), Captain Harlock, video games and a whole lot more. This of course keeps us up with the latest Chris Chan news, Discotek Media doing their own crowdsource idea, and much more.
This show has:
The era of Nixon Censorship is upon us…

Well, we’re in the year of the flying hoverboards, The 3rd Impact and probably other great futuristic movie predictions that escape Zeonic at the moment. However, our anniversary special is gonna be belated for a while, so sorry to tell you guys that. However, we don’t expect it to be as belated as this episode content, which has been collecting dust in our podcast vault for roughly the past 6 MONTHS!! So without further ado, you get to hear a full house of us talk about the 2014 Summer Anime Season!!!
(0:00 – 13:04) Pre-Introduction Segment: Zeonic did his best to edit this episode into a functional experience, but he could only put in so much work before cutting his losses and just rolling with it. Our full house includes the likes of Chibi Goku, Daft and Josh discussing subjects like the Astro Boy theater production, Zeonic talking about the Insufficient Direction anime/manga, our pre-thoughts on Gundam G Recongista, skype issues, the failed Harmony Gold kickstarter and more before we actually get to FINALLY introducing ourselves 13 minutes later.
(13:04 – 1:22:16) Summer 2014 Anime Review Part A: We split our segments up into two parts, which Part A will consist of our first impressions with Sailor Moon Crystal, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders, Sword Art Online 2 and Space Dandy Season 2. We also dive into works by Kevin Smith, MyAnimeList issues, hating on twitter people, and TOTALLY FAILING at doing podcast introductions, which explains why we never do them to begin with.
(1:22:16 – 1:24:34) Podcast Promo’s: Speaking of Jojo’s, we got the two men who’s karate is faster then anything you will ever see, because Dave and Joel have found their own way to hone and master such an art of martials. We give shout outs to Alpha Counter, as they continue to make episodes that no longer pertain to that #GamerGate fiasco. Also included is Anime World Order, who recently did a trivia episode to stump Paul “White Daryl” Chapman’s with useless anime trivia to make regular Daryl Surat be an even bigger
jerkoff anime fan.
(1:24:34 – 2:27:42) Summer 2014 Anime Review Part B: This is essentially a Daft/Jonn segment of them talking about all the time wasted watching anime shows they thought were terrible, which included Terror in Resonance, Aldnoah Zero, Tokyo Ghoul, Akame ga Kill, Bakumatsu Rock and Rail Wars! This of course contains off topic commentary about the DashCon/bad MLP cons, Twitter feminist vs. Zeonic, the current state of anime cons, and much more.
(2:27:42 – 2:47:01) Bonus Content!!: This was content that would have made our off-topic talks even more off-topic, with pre-pre-review discussions about the GREATEST SKYPE CRASH OF THEM ALL!, Anime Expo/Jojo’s dub talk, Toonzone rants, past podcast drama, Marvel anime shows, and more.
ED – JUMP IN DAT PITZ
This show has:
The kinda people Rail Wars! is the demographic for?
JUMP IN DA PIT!!!
How that fits in 140 characters is beyond Zeonic’s understanding…
Also known as: “A Man and a Woman. What’s that? A Man and a Woman!”
and also: “Much needed Macross great anime super DVD!”

This was a review that was a long time coming, which this seems to be the most appropriate time to cover it. After making its mark in Japanese theaters on July 7th 1984, this has been a movie that fans have grown to love and appreciate over the years. From the die hard of them all to the young at heart, Macross has left an impressionable mark in animation going back to the early 1980’s. And what better way for there to be a retelling of a series than with Super Dimensional Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love? I should note, we mostly stay on topic, if that means anything to you listeners.
Review: SDF Macross: Do You Remember Love? This film is a piece that, from the hardcore to the intermediate of anime fans, need to see once in their lives. This film is so powerful, that not even companies can obtain the full rights to it on both sides of the globe, which has been in constant legal battle since it’s creation so long ago. Even so, many people who worked on this film and were involved have made a name for themselves in the anime industry since then. So, what better way for Zeonic and Jonn to give a “semi” spoiler free (you heard right!) discussion on this film as a whole, where they both talk mostly about the history of this film and those who worked on it; and how it’s been distributed across the globe. This also gives Zeonic and Jonn a chance to discuss Macross and Robotech in the states, which was able to leave such a major mark in shaping anime fandom to where it is today. This also has them talking about their experiences seeing this movie for the first time, the legal issues surrounding the movie and the television series over the years, Harmony Gold rantings, bootleg anime talk, Gamestop/EB Games talk, the current issues with Let’s Plays, and much more. Also, CLASHING OF THE ZINGEROIDS SOUNDS! at the end.
The Anime World Order treatment of this film (I mean hey, we have played their promo).

Jonn is right, these intros to Macross are totally awesome…
