Another HallowsEve with the Devilman wanting to play with Dustin and Jonn. This time they review the recent hot (as hell) anime Devilman Crybaby!
(0:00 – 1:01:20) Review: Devilman Crybaby –Dustin concurs that this is the greatest Devilman anime out there so far, and was very popular around podcast and other reviewers at the beginning of the year when it hit Netflix. Yuasa takes special liberties to adapt the manga by adding some spins to it here and there, but it’s one wild ride for all 10 episodes. This also gets the hosts to talk about other Go Nagai works like Demon Lord Dante, the Scary Movie series (and how it relates to Devilman), and other stuff included.
This time we bring a short(er) episode as the hosts grow up in a Fooly Cooly sort of way…
(0:00- 40:00) Review: FLCL Progressive/Alternative – Both FLCL series have finished up on Toonami, and Jonn and Dustin dive head first in to the zany, lazy world on the high school life on growing up. This is more of an overview episode of all three series to kinda briefly summarize our thoughts on Progressive and Alternative. This also gets the episode started with how violent Jonn bird is, Dustin and his substitute teaching gig stories, how CNN bans the word “Mob”, the recent revival of old Adult Swim originals and much more.
(40:00 – 1:19:05) Closing Remarks: At some point we get into this segment (probably really after Jonn internet decides to crap out) to mention the grand return of how Love that Goku is going to run an anime/DBZ store, more stories on troubled teens in school, the Brent Kavanaugh Supreme Court hearing, how socialism works in the land of Chris Chan and much more.
Right Stuf Promo:This podcast is sponsored by RightStuf!, where we get cool things from them to review and talk about. You can always check out what’s going on at RightStuf for any deals that happen on a daily basis, so check them out!
Also known as: “I wanna hit you…with my man meat, inside you…that’s what I mean…” And also: “Intergalactic space aliens are taking over your hard drive right now, I can see it through the system analysis and uuuuuuuhhhhhh…”
There is no excuse as to why we missed the entire month of September to put out a review. Other than the hosts blaming it on “bizarre” circumstances, this time we talk about JoJo Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders.
(0:00 – 1:02:45) Review: JoJo Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders – This particular 3rd arc of the series is what anime fans have known what JoJo’s been for over 20 years at this point, and with its airing run finished up on Toonami, Jonn and Dustin get around to covering the series. This mostly goes into the arc history of marketing in the states, and to capture notable moments in the show. This also includes our own apologetic ad for RightStuf.com, Toonami shows talk, and the craziness thereof.
(1:02:45 – 1:59:00) Closing Remarks – This gets the hosts to talk about the removal of Alex Jones from all known forms of social and mainstream media, which only prompts Dustin to summon his Alex Jones impersonation stand once again. This includes QAnon talk, that Unite the Right movement near Otakon, Gab.ai threat to be taken down, internet censorship talk, Candace Owens/Sarah Jong tweets, Dustin has beef on one of his AMV’s taken down by AVEX on Youtube, and what Smash Bros characters are/aren’t gay. All this and more in this weeks episode.
(52:00 – 53:25) Right Stuf Promo: Dustin babbles on for a minute to convince you the listener to buy everything and everything from Right Stuf!, because you totally should, and we should TOTALLY GET PAID (but we kid since the review material we receive is very sufficient, so thank you Right Stuf!)
(53:25 – 1:32:15) Review: Solo: A Star Wars Story – Both Jonn and Dustin enjoyed this film despite it coming out a mere few months after that debacle Last Jedi hit the main screens, which the hosts own review to this movie is very positive in general. This also gets the hosts talking about how Disney might screw up Star Wars in the future and that Han really did shoot first in the cantina.
(46:00 – 2:13:30) Issue #2: Logan/Guardians 2 COMBO PACK! – This was a recording we’ve had in the backroom of our podcast vaults for over a year because Dustin didn’t know when to put it out when we recorded it over a year ago, which was roughly before he went to Animazement last year! All we had to do was dust off the package and BAM, it’s as good as sold on the front shelf! This starts out with how to fix your internet with magical powers of the Scotsman, Jonn and his story seeing Logan in the “Two Dollar Tard Theater,” retro gaming talk, land owners rights and imminent domain laws, Logan and the Weapon X discussion, Future of X-Men movies, how Disney loves to screw up Star Wars and much more!
(2:13:30 – 04:13:35) DOUBLE BONUS CLOSING REMARKS! –This goes into closing remarks from over a year ago with whatever the political turmoil was in the middle east with ISIS (but that’s pretty much taken care of anyways, so whocaresmovingalong), that bombing of the Ariana GrandeLatte concert, history lesson of how (not) well communism works, rantings on “raising awareness” including that great American Dad episode making fun of it, Late SHOUTOUT to the passing of Sir Roger Moore and how he was in Spice World, James Bond talk, old Timbox info, Samurai Jack talk from last year and a bunch more nonesense. This of course goes into the next portion of recent closing remarks with latest Chris Chan news of him melting down at Too Many Games, how the LGBT are imploding on themselves, general politics, Dustin gives a fair review of Augusta GA, Family Guy being spot on with millenials and much more!
