(0:00 – 56:35) Review: Neon Genesis Evangelion 3.0+1.0 – This film series originally was supposed to end a decade ago, but its been nearly a decade since the last film was released in Japan. This show has: “I think its just Catholic, not Catholicistic.”

Download Episode HERE! (Total Time: 1:55:17)

We’re a little bit late than we wanted, but here we are in our final installment of our Berserk coverage of the 2016 and 2017 series. Oh yea, E3 was this year, and it sucked, and we talk about that too.

(0:00 – 34:15) E3 2021 Review – Nothing really much to say, because nothing really happened. A new Halo, some talk from a company about diversity in the gaming industry, you know the hard hitting stuff every gamer really cares about, right? In terms of games the company that showed up was Limited Run Games, which Dustin talks why everyone should get everything Zombies Ate My Neighbors from them. Its a great game BUY IT!!! This also talks about Dustin still working on the old Initial D cabs, how LRG has the rights to Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties, and much more!

(34:15 – 1:55:17) Review: Berserk 2016/2017 – This finalizes what has been animated so far from Miura series, and Jonn and Dustin are there to share their thoughts on the series. This gets into Japanese censorship for nudity, bad CGI shows and Max Steel, the best review of Species 2, manga talk, the great failings of Tokyopop, internet drama and much more.

Just a heads up, make sure to check out Trigun ReAnimate, a collaborative project to reanimate the Trigun intro.

Music:

OP – Best opening to an anime should be a song from Clerks…

ED – Here’s a band that writes music about Berserk…

This show has:

Yea for real, I had the same reaction as well…

Totally a product of its time…

GET IT WHILE YOU CAN!!

AoY Podcast #157 – Berserk Review Part I

Also known as: “See I was right! I was absolutely right, and I just said the wrong name!”
and also: “I put JP Morgan in Defense Mode!”

Probably our first real anime review since last year, but we honor the late Kentaro Miura by reviewing the 1997 Berserk anime and The Golden Arc Films.

This entire episode (or the most we can do to stay focused on talking about our topic) is dedicated to Dustin and Jonn views on the Berserk anime. There’s hardly anything for a closing remarks segment since we felt like we’ve overdone that in our last episode. This anime is personal to Dustin because he started to watch the anime the month Miura passed, let alone THE SAME DAY that no one knew about till it was made official 2 weeks later! This gets us to discuss other note while things like the Arthur PBS cartoon, our personal history in how we knew/got into Berserk, thoughts on animation issues, books vs. the film adaptations, check out a better Berserk podcast than we could ever hope to achieve, popular shonen titles, Record of Lodoss War and other fantasy anime talk, Dustin leaving Geeks under Grace with his official last article on the Initial D arcade scene, and much more!

We’ll be back hopefully in our next installment to talk about the 2016 and 2017 series.

Music Selection:

OP – RIP Kentarou Miura

ED – Possible best AMV tribute?

AoY Podcast #156 – 10th Anniversary Podcastaganza (Snyder Justice League Cut, Godzilla vs. Kong, Closing Remarks)

Also known as: “Teewhy sounds more southern than Zeonic…”
and also: “This is Destiny. This is Madness. This is… TOON. RADIO. DOT NET!”

Download Episode HERE! (Total Time: 5:15:43)

No, this particular podcast isn’t 10 years old, we got a couple more years till that happens. This is to commemorate us doing podcasting for 10 years at this point in time going back to the old Kool Kids Klub Podcast days. No one has told us to stop, and if they did, we’re just not going to listen. Join Dustin, Jonn, Daft and Teewhy as we review Godzilla vs. Kong, the Zack Snyder Justice League Cut, and extended closing remarks.

(0:00 – 1:54:07) Review: Zack Snyder Justice League Cut – Yep, this another one of those supersized episodes we recorded over a couple of months. In this piece we have our discussion of the Justice League cut by Zack Snyder which turned out to be a far better film than the 2017 release. This gets us to talking about Daft and Dustin on keeping a log of things they hoarde, er collect, how Canadian geese suck, the Darkman movie and other movies like it during the time, other Wizard of Oz renditions, which is worse: DC EU or Star Wars Sequels?, more Star Wars discussion, if Zach Snyder did a Dragonball Z Cut, the future of anime/fandom cons, porn parody film discussion, our days at Toon Radio and much more!

(1:54:07 – 3:40:15) Review: Godzilla vs. Kong – This was our recent recording to talk about as much as we could on this film, but also filled with other side banter. This includes how Dustin Cowboy Bebop Adult Swim recordings are circulating around the internet more, censorship on Toonami, the Dubs Time Forgot archive.org page, CN anime schedules on TV, Dairy Queen and the sketchy Indians that run them in your local town, Evangelion talk, Jonn and Daft talk about the new Tom and Jerry movie, the future of streaming services, Baby Yoda merch, Dustin passing out in his gaming chair, Space Jam 2 talk and much more.

(3:40:15 – 5:15:43) Extended Closing Remarks – A lot has happened to our main host Jonn and Dustin in the past couple of months, which a whole segment is dedicated to that just for the heck of it. This involves Jonn getting banned from Twitter for doing absolutely nothing, Dustin tells his journey through the maze of internet dating and the crazy women he meets along the way, the Ravi Zacharias controversy, COVID conspiracy discussion, Dustin getting a new ride, how doing outdoor escape rooms with dumb people is a terrible activity to do, RIP shoutouts, early Screw Attack content, going to awesome video stores in Asheville NC, Silent Mobius talk, how we are still podcasting 10 years later, Biden tripping up the stairs and much more!

Music Selection:

OP1 – HERE THEY COME, LOOK OUT CHUM, IT’S THE JUSTICE LEAGUE!!

OP2 – Should’ve been the opening for this movie…

OP3 – 10 years after our first podcast episode, were still doing this….

ED – As Godzilla goes into the water, this tune plays in Dustin brain…

This show has:

Iranian Spongebob

Good old player two/sex toy chair

Iranians love their Spongebob…
Gaming of the future!!

AoY Podcast #155 – The Cool Communist Cartoons Podcast (CCCP) presents Captain of Cosmos

Also known as: “Charmuro… you’re in a Korean anime…”

And also: “Half that arc was ‘In That Moment’…”

Download Episode HERE! (Total Time: 1:33:45)

The Commies have invaded our podcast! Dustin and Jonn are under the socialist rule of our fellow DPRKhomrads who have a few cartoons to share with us, notably Captain of Cosmos (ie Johnny Destiny Space Ninja)

(0:00 – 1:01:15) Kim Jung-Un Best Anime Collection Presents: Captain of Cosmos – Many podcasts ago, Jonn and Dustin mentioned that they were going to review Korean anime. With the lack of caring in 2020 (like that matters in 2021), both were held at the point of sharp commie bayonets in order to have the proper motivation to talk about Korean anime finally. Both hosts feel Johnny Destiny story is too good of a Korean anime to talk about, since Captain of Cosmos does have some kind of easy to follow story surprisingly. Both hosts talk about other subjects like the releases by defunct “One Dollar Dealer” Digiview Entertainment, trying to describe Space Thunder Kids to Jonn, how Raw Deal is a great forgettable Arnold action film, the purpose of Superman using guns, politics talk (of course), our 10 year anniversary of podcasting coming up over the horizon, and much more!

(1:01:15 – 1:33:45) “Jonn rants for half an hour” Closing Remarks – This was recorded after the Capital riots back in January, where Jonn had to vent about a few things in the last days of the Trump administration. Dustin hit record because it least its some kind of content.

Music Selection:

OP – Please rise for the CCCP national anthem…

ED – Reviewing these Korean cartoons is a raw deal to us…

This show has:

Please, don’t make us review the DigiView catalogue…
