The day has finally come, where we make our 50th Podcast episode. And what better way than to do a recorded interview with a video game voice actress like Lisle Wilkerson. You wanna know something else, this was recorded 3 months ago at the end of May, and we still have a back log of recordings. At least it shows that we will not run out of content anytime soon…
(0:00 – 59:06) Interview: Lisle Wilkerson – We are humbly joined by the voice talent behind the recent voices of Christie Monteiro and Sarah Bryant in the most recent games of Tekken and Virtua Fighter (oh yea, don’t forget about Shenmue 2 now). Of course, to anyone who plays those games, it’s hard to focus on the voice behind the 3D model that is countering your attack for the tenth time in a ranked match (remember Joy in Shenmue 2? Yea, DON’T FORGET ABOUT SHENMUE 2). We of course ask Ms. Wilkerson questions on how she was able to get her foot into the door of video game voice acting, what is the voice acting world like currently, what it was like growing up in Japan, working with Bill Murray in Lost in Translation, chatting about her works in video games (like Crazy Taxi and OF COURSE SHENMUE 2!!), being in fixed boxing matches, the current life of Calf., her upcoming (really past) con schedule for this year, and old school anime talk. All this and more in this episode…

AoY Podcast #43 – Gundam Month The Fourth: Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn Ep 7: “Over the Rainbow” Review

Well, this is going to conclude our Gundam Month segment for quite a while, until there is new Gundam to come out to talk about. After over three years of podcast’s between different names and people, we are here to finally finish out our Gundam Month segments; as we dive into the newtype rainbow of Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn Episode 7: Over the Rainbow.
Gundam Unicorn 7 was able to answer some questions to a lot of Gundam fans as to “kinda” tell what happens after Char’s Counterattack, as we discuss the events and story behind this final OVA spanning over 4 years now. You can expect to find giant mobile armors with TONS AND TONS OF GUNS EVERYWHERE, newtype acid trips, newtype ghosts, colony lasers, and how newtypes were destined to have political positions. We were able to have Andy from the Daily Anime Podcast join us to talk about this OVA, which got us to talk about the new Godzilla movie in the beginning of this recording, angry autistic’s on tumblr, autistic’s against Funimation getting Gundam, catching Andy up on our favorite LolCow, us bro’s having bro crushes on Suichi Ikeda, (I ment to say George Washington not Thomas Jefferson for those history people out there, my bad), how smoking is an issue in Universal Century (the quote is found somewhere on this page but I’ll post the quote after this paragraph), bad writers and more general Gundam talk plus more than that.
Here is the quote Jonn used in his closing remarks: “The poison called tobacco, which was once almost extinct in the old ages, still lingered in the days of Universal Century 0096. We also like to define accumulation with a less offensive term we like to call “collecting.” Here at the AoY podcast, we are completely guilty in that area, and heck, even wanna share our stories on how we got the things we have obtained over the years. GUYS WE MADE IT!!!! With the start of 2014, we are still together, have not changed the name, and have to much to review for you that will eventually come out!! I say unedited on the title because… I am not gonna worry about editing a thing on here. So, whatever audio issues you hear in this episode, is the result of me not caring how it sounds for the first time in a long while, only because I have done recordings/edits for other podcast that will soon come out after this, so deal with it. Any who, we kick off the new year by having our later Christmas and 1 Year Anniversary special by talking about what we got for Christmas, movie talk and all around general discussion. We also have our bro Andy from the Daily Anime Podcast join in on the fun.
We kick off the episode where we discuss the yule tide cheer we received this past Christmas, which was mostly video games and anime related stuff. Also, we talk about movies that we have seen in the past few months. We continue the trend to talk about the latest Hobbit 2 movie that came out, and how Disney was able to make our hearts Frozen. I also mention the films I’ve seen in the past few months such as Homefront, Thor 2, Enders Game, Escape Plan, Machete Kills and Man of Steel. Of course, we mention other films like The Man with the Iron Fists, Hobo With a Shotgun and probably a few others (I forgot to mention that I saw The Secret Life of Walter Mitty also, good film).
This also gets us into talking about Zeonic dating life, Vic FiletMignonanona, other podcasters out there (well, mostly us trying to figure out the science behind Anime World Order), the enigmatic psyche of one Daryl Surat, general anime talk this past year, white people trying to be black for black people, and a whole lot of other crap mixed in there.

Jonn and I were guest stars on The Nine Hells of Anime Podcast to talk about our favorite Yoshiaki Kawajiri anime OVA, Goku: Midnight Eye. This is mine and Jonn’s second attempt at reviewing this anime, because we love it that freaking much.
